Without doubt, one of the most important factors in our business is the sourcing of sustainable species. With this in mind, our buyers work hard to source sustainable fish and shellfish from the local Community and further afield, with the aim of minimising the effect of overfishing, thus ensuring the survival of livlihoods and species for years to come.

We feel it is our duty to educate and inform our customers about the variety of fish and shellfish available on their doorstep. We have been instrumental in championing relatively unknown species, such as the Cornish Megrim Sole, as a viable alternative to other species which are threatened with overfishing. We strive to make every aspect of our business as environmentally-friendly as possible. This includes using natural seaweed as packaging for our shellfish, using returnable boxes for deliveries, and reusing as much packaging as possible. We also aim to recycle as much waste as we can, using on-site methods of waste seperation.

Our recent partnership with a local logistics company has enabled us to offer returnable packaging for a vast number of deliveries to customers in some of the UK's major cities, such as London and Bristol. This has been massively successful, and means fewer polystyrene boxes into landfill, and fewer costs for the disposal of waste for our customers. We hope to eventually offer returnable packaging to all customers in the UK, which will further help our resolve of being a very low-impact operation in terms of the environment. We have been allied with the Cornwall Good Seafood Guide and the Cornwall Wildlife Trust since their inception. To this end, we work closely with them to ensure that the fish we sell is 'recommended', and that we remain active in local affairs. They have been a constant source of good information over the years, and help to inform us about the methods of fishing, availability of species and local fishing news.
